We are a full-service machine shop that offers an array of services that you can see below. We specialize in manufacturing and repairing tools and ground support equipment for aircraft maintenance, but our capabilities extend to many other businesses.
AVIATION SPECIFIC SERVICES
We manufacture thousands of products for the entire Boeing fleet; products for Airbus, Fokker, British Aerospace and others; in addition to products for Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and GE engines. We manufacture high quality specialized aviation electronic and mechanical tooling, engine handling and ground support equipment (GSE), avionics bench test, line maintenance test equipment and we provide test, repair, and calibration services for all products. QAT is a licensed GSE supplier.
We customize solutions to meet your specific needs in addition to offering proprietary tools to reduce maintenance downtime. Our products are used by commercial airlines, the military and the general aviation industry world-wide. Much of our work is 100% handcrafted and tested in-house to ensure the best quality available. Of course, we provide a Certificate of Conformance with each job.

We offer build-to-print manufacturing of short-run and production test equipment and tools, as well as the ability to do prototyping. We can customize and modify products and tool designs to meet your specific needs.
Our shop capabilities include Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Machining, which is a process involving the use of computers executing pre-programmed sequences of machine control commands in order to control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this way include mills, lathes, routers, and grinders.
CONVENTIONAL MILLING & LATHING
Conventional milling is another process for removing unwanted material from a work piece. It is the traditional approach to cutting in order to eliminate the backlash, which is the play between the lead screw and the nut in the machine table. We have multiple pieces of equipment that can be used for this purpose and will find the right tool for the job.
We use lathes, or tools that rotate the workpiece about the axis of rotation to perform various operations such as cutting, knurling, sanding, drilling, deformation, facing, and turning.
Repair work can be complicated, and each repair is unique. Though we specialize in the repair of products from airplane manufacturers, our skills and experience give us with the ability to repair elements from many other industries. Welding is the process of joining two metal or plastic parts by melting them, with or without the use of a further molten material. There are several different welding types, each used for a specific type of metal or seam; every method uses different tools, equipment, and techniques. We use:
Air carbon arc gouging
MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION (MAG TESTING)
We offer Mag testing, a non-destructive process for detecting discontinuities or defects at or near the surface in ferromagnetic metals such as steel, iron, cobalt, nickel, etc.
Our highly skilled and experienced craftsman creates customized storage and shipping containers.
We use properly calibrated tools to take a series of measurements to ensure the precise measurement of an item or area.
PROOF LOAD TESTING
We perform proof-load testing for the purpose of verifying material strength, welds, and the fitness of a load-bearing structure. We have dedicated machinery capable of proof-loading a wide range of equipment.

Heat treating is a set of metalworking processes of heating and cooling used to alter the physical and chemical properties of material to improve it's performance and durability.
METAL CUTTING & BENDING
Use of a single-point or multi-point tool to remove material from a work piece by means of shear deformation.
A manufacturing process that produces a V-shape, U-shape, or channel shape along a straight axis in ductile materials.
PRECISION GRINDING & FINISHING
An abrasive machining process capable of making precision cuts, removing materials from the work piece, and producing very fine finishes. We use a variety of equipment to manufacture to specified dimensions and low tolerances.

We use various methods of forcibly propelling a stream of material against a surface under high pressure in order to roughen a smooth surface, smooth a roughened surface, shape a surface, or remove surface contaminants.
